Installing S3TC textures for UnrealGold

Step 1 Install Unreal Gold from your CD.

Step 2 Download and install the OMP-UGOLD-V0.2 for UnrealGold.

Step 3 After installation of the OMP patch:

Step 4 In the Menu Advanced Options open:

Step 5 Scroll down and select:

  • And open: OpenGL Support

    • Step 6 Your Unreal Gold install and driver setup is complete. If done correctly, your Unreal Gold should function properly using OpenGL.

    Step 7 Use the specs below to help you chose what texture package to download and install. Even if your videocard is 128Mb or lower you can still try the High End versions. If you notice stuttering or lower framerates, you might wanna try the Low End versions.


    S3TC Low End
     
    Use: Client Side Only
    Computer Specs. CPU: Pentium 2 or higher
    Videocard: 32Mb, 64 Mb, 128 Mb (card needs OpenGL, D3D8 or D3D9 support)
    Limitations: Do NOT use for Mapping, Editing and Servers

     S3TC High End
    Use: Client Side Only
    Computer Specs. CPU: Pentium 4
    Videocard: 256 Mb, 384 Mb, 512 Mb (card needs OpenGL, D3D8 or D3D9 support)
    Limitations: Do NOT use for Mapping, Editing and Servers
    Downloads:

    S3TC Extreme End
    Use: Client Side Only
    Computer Specs. CPU: Pentium 4
    Videocard: 512 Mb, 768 Mb, 1024 Mb (card needs OpenGL, D3D8 or D3D9 support)
    Limitations: Do NOT use for Mapping, Editing and Servers
     
    Downloads:
    Package 1

    Step 8 Unzip the files and copy them into your C:\UnrealGold\Texture folder by overwriting the existing texture files.


    Install Complete
