Contribute!
You can create a new page, and then you can edit this list to add it to the categories, as well as edit the Content Creation homepage to tell everyone about it!

Make Requests!
You can also stop by the UdnStaff page to see what we're working on, and edit it to add your own document requests.

Please take note! For mod developers working with Unreal Tournament 2003, this documentation is meant to be a starting point for your own explorations into UT2003, not a definitive guide. There will be differences between the documentation here and the product in your hands, and you may have to figure out quite a bit for yourself. Check out the Unreal Tournament 2003 page in the Unreal Powered area for links to community sites if you're having problems. UDN is a licensee support site, and cannot provide technical support or game-specific assistance to end users.

Content Creation

Here, you'll find documentation on the practical, audio, visual and physical aspects of producing Unreal Warfare-based content. Everything from level design to textures, music to modeling, will be covered here, in both practical, hands-on, "how-to" format, as well as in a more formal, comprehensive, reference format.

Latest Stuff

- ExampleMapsSounds has been added to the ExampleMaps page. It is not yet completed, but you can see the basics of how to set up sounds within your map here.

- ExampleMapsComplexMovers has been added to the ExampleMaps page. Here you will see an example of how to create more complex Movers including a rising-self cealing prison cell, and a roller coaster mover that uses more than 8 KeyFrames.

- LightingTutorial has been updated with minor changes for the 2110 build.

- HardwareBrushesTutorial has been updated with minor changes for the 2110 build. (mostly just removing nonrelevant and inaccurate information).

- MoversTutorial has been updated with minor changes for the 2110 build.

- TriggersTutorial has been updated with minor updates for the 2110 build.

- The key short cut for using the Find Distance Ruler has been added to the UnrealEdKeys document (Shift+Alt+MiddleMouse Button), along with minor formatting corrections.

- UnrealEdInterface document has been updated for the 2110 build.

- The TerrainTutorial has been split apart into five smaller documents so that is more manageable and just generally easier to use. The documents were also cleaned up to remove redundant information and reorganized for your reading pleasure.

- The ProjectiveTutorial has been updated to the 2110 build with descriptions of all the different projector options in the properties window including the new blending options that were formally only able to be done from the Texture Browser.

- The TerrainTutorial has been updated to the 2110 build with special attention to the DecoLayers section. This Document will soon be split apart into smaller more manageable documents (just as the ExampleMaps doc was).

- The VolumesTutorial has been updated to the 2110 build to include new volume types and remove outdated ones.

- Minor changes to the MaterialTutorial and the ShapeEditor to clean up and update for the 2110 build.

- The ExampleMaps doc has been cleaned up and reorganized so that it is now a directory to all future example map pages to be created. When you create a new example map page, just be sure update the main example map page with a breif description and link too (just as you would this page). The exsisting example maps have already been moved to their own pages.

- MoversTutorial has been updated to the 2107+ build with major changes to document all aspects of Movers (including how to easily have more than 8 keyframes for a given mover!)

- SampleMatineeTips has been added to further illustrate the workings of making matinee sequences. Custom code included for manipulating static meshes with particle systems attached.

- HardwareBrushesTutorial has been updated to include information on how to replace textures on a specific instance of a static mesh in the level.

- TerrainTutorial has been updated for the 2107+ build with the majority of the changes being in the Terrain Generator section.

- HardwareBrushesTutorial has been updated for the 2107+ build with infomration the changes in the new Static Mesh Browswer and more detail was added to the section on Static Mesh Collision Properties.

- BspBrushesTutorial has been updated for the 2107+ build to include a brief mention of Antiportal Volumes and a minor preface on the semantics of the terms BSP versus CSG.

- LevelOptimization document has been updated (again) for the 2107+ build but now with detailed information on all of the different ways you can optimize your level -not just through use of antiportals and zones!

- Updated RagdollsInUT2003 page, with info on profiling and decoration ragdolls.

- Full 2D ShapeEditor document has been written up and is current up to Build 829.

- Documentation for using the ActorX exporter from Maya: ActorXMayaTutorial

- A tutorial on how to use skeletal animation resources in artist-modifyable .UKX packages: UKXPackagesTutorial
